On-Site Thyroid Lab

The Santa Monica Thyroid Diagnostic Center on site lab is certified by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine AIUM. We also process requests for other endocrinologists and thyroid surgeons.

The lab (CLIA ID #05D0688350) has been set up and supervised by Dr. Carole A. Spencer, who is also the director of the CAP accredited USC Endocrine Services Laboratory annexed to the LAC-USC laboratory.

Our on site laboratory director is an acknowledged world leader in thyroid biochemistry. All lab work is completed within 48 hours. The lab is fully licensed and certified to perform the following tests:

  • T4 (+ free T4 estimate)
  • T3 (+ free T3 estimate)
  • Third Generation TSH
  • Anti-Thyroid Antibodies

Cancer marker testing - Thyroglobulin, Calcitonin, and DNA - is performed off-site.
